QUESTIONS ABOUT TOPMAN DESIGN:

Firstly, could you just generally describe why you like Topman Design?
Because of the cuts and the designs, you can’t get designer looking garments, or anything remotely different on the high street, its the only brand that makes fashion forward garments at high street prices.

How often do you buy from Topman Design?
A couple of times a year usually 3-4 items a year, it’s hard to get hold of.

Where do you buy it from? in store or online?
Always online, or oxford street when in London.

What is your favourite item you have bought from Topman Design, and how much was it?
A pvc holdel bag, i bought it 3 years ago and it still looks current.

If you have been to either the Oxford Circus or Manchester stores to buy Topman Design, what did you think of the VM?
I didn’t see it in Manchester but in London it doesn’t look an awful lot different to the rest of the vm, the last time i went to oxford circus it wasn’t in store.

Do you think anything better could be done to the VM to make the in store environment more exciting for new/existing customers?
A more boutique high fashion enviroment. wooden hangers, different mannequins, visual props etc, different bags to the ones normal topman customers get.

ABOUT YOU QUESTIONS:

How would you describe yourself in terms of your occupation/s?
e.g fashion student-stylist (be as inventive as you want!)
fickal, i dont always like one thing, i could say i hate something and then see it on the catwalk and love it, basically if some reinvented the bin bag as the new item to wear i'd wear it, my taste changes dramatically from year to year. I shop just about anywhere, im not a loyal customer, i'll shop where ever i need to to get what i want, usually i have something in my head that i want months b4 its in store, i wanted a men’s sequin blazer for about 8 months b4 i eventually found one in new york. my personal style is more about what i like rather than what’s on trend for men, i think u either love how i dress of think i look a dick.

Who is your fashion icon?
i don't really have one, i get my inspiration from people out in clubs, the bandana i wear on my head for example was because of a guy i met in Nottingham.

Do you have any other icons?
I dont like her music but i like the way kylie mingoue has reinvented herself without selling her sole, shes very private and i respect that, i also like the way everything has a very clear theme and concept.

Where do you go for fun?
Anywhere, i like going to different cities, nottingham, leeds, manchester, london, sheffield, paris, if i have an opportunity to try somewhere new i'll go.

What are your favourite places? (can be simple e.g bed or countries, anything)
i grew up a country boy with 3 horses, 6 dogs, a pet sheep and a million rabbits so i grew up to be the exact opposite, i love the city and the noise and the rude people asking you for cigarettes, my favourite city is newcastle, it has the fashion, culture, clubs, everything, and the accent! u gotta love a geordie.

What attracts you to buy from a new brand?
it has to be different to what’s been before.

What are your favourite clothing brands?
at the moment burberry, vintage, b-store, alex christopher, h&m and allsaints.

What is your favourite gadget?
my phone.

What do you look for in a garment?
quality, wearablity, value per wear (if something cost me £500 if i cud wear it everyday i think its cheap, if i cud only wear it for certain things its not cost effective).

What is your favourite magazine?
Italian vogue, paris vogue, id, love, wonderland, man about town, 10 magazine, infact 10 magazine is my favourite

Why do you consider this magazine to be better than others?
Its not pompous, its tongue and cheek and treats fashion as fun which is how it should be.

Do you consider yourself to be an impulse buyer (i.e dont go shopping for anything in particular but buy when you see something you like).... or a destination shopper,(i.e know what you want from a shop so only go in to that particular shop and buy it.)
im a destination shopper but if i see something whilst im out i will splurge.

Where do you go for fashion advice?
i take my own.

Do you read any blogs? If so which ones are your favourites?
Im old fashioned and prefer magazine blogs, the Sunday times style has good ones that write every week.

i dont really have any hobbies now, i just do the norm, i go to the cinema and eat out alot more now im with someone rather than when i was one my own, but i go clubbing less than when i was sinlge.
